Katy Curtis is a clinical psychologist at the Comprehensive Integrated Pain Program in the Toronto University Health Network (UHN). Her academic and spiritual studies fueled an interest in yoga research and subsequent endeavors evaluated Iyengar Yoga and Patanjali’s-Yoga-Sutras-based mindfulness programs for individuals with chronic pain conditions, such as fibromyalgia or spinal cord injury. Currently completing a post-doctoral fellowship, she is evaluated in a specialized yoga program for postsurgical pain at the Toronto General Hospital. At Vidya, Katy manages collaborations on the Iyengar yoga research projects and participates in art direction. Her immense knowledge of the teachings finds her often coordinating programming and undertaking other Seva-oriented tasks.
Kathryn Curtis, Ph.D, C.Psych. holds her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from York University where she was supervised by Dr. Joel Katz for her graduate level research. During her graduate studies, she began studying with Gitte at Vidya Institute Toronto in 2010 and has been a devoted student ever since, while also managing the Institute's empirical research projects.
